Brad Gorman was lucky to be born and raised in Colorado. His mother
Helen Gorman, who is one of the region’s most respected interior
designers,

started the design school at ACC. Along with constant artistic affirmation, she instilled in Brad a true appreciation of color and design as well as an acute visual focus. Brad’s father who left Iowa for the natural rugged beauty of Colorado, became one of the celebrated Mountain Troops. He instilled a passion for adventure and the outdoors and taught Brad how to swing a hammer. Brad, armed with a contagious drive and optimism, attended the University of Colorado and graduated with degrees in both fine art and advertising while also working on his pilot’s license. After college, Brad’s sense of adventure took him to Aspen where he ran the snowboard school at Aspen Highlands, bartended at The Little Nell, worked with sled dogs at Krabluniks and wired up houses in town. Later on Brad created bicycle graphics and award winning logos as a graphic designer. Then as a creative director, launched a successful ad agency with his brother, Greg Gorman, former Budweiser brand manager. But longing for his artistic roots, Brad left the world of advertising and went to France to paint with his old friend and mentor, accomplished artist, David Parker. Since then, Brad has painted full time and has created works that reflect his knowledge of classic composition, modern design and a bright perspective on life and landscape. His paintings have hung in galleries all around Colorado and in the homes of collectors all around the world. Look at any one of Brad’s works and you will see inspirations of old masters Van Gogh, and Seurat combined with a Pop art punch from Warhol and Peter Max. Throw in a pinch of humor and you have an artist that tries not to take himself too seriously and who’s art asks us to look at life a bit more saturated, a little more whimsical, and with a little bit of hope.
